Trial sequential analysis for in-hospital mortality. TSA was performed based on a relative risk reduction of in-hospital mortality of 6.42% according to 10.2% in balanced crystalloids group and 10.9% in 0.9% saline group in eight trials with 19,301 patients reporting in-hospital mortality. A required diversity-adjusted information size of 80,946 patients was calculated. The cumulated Z-curve (blue) failed to reach the traditional boundary (p = 0.05), the trial sequential monitoring boundary as well as the estimated information size boundary.
