The left panel reports the same data as the right panel of Fig. 2, with identifications of significant slopes (red lines). When the curve reaches 1, the epidemic decreases (Rt < 1). On the right panel, we zoomed in on the last part of the evolution with its regression line and extrapolation crossing the x-axis on May 4. On this same figure, the corresponding number of patients can be derived from the regression curve and superimposed (black curve). The 95% confidence interval of both the regression line and the derived number of patients can be easily obtained from traditional regression lines models (not reported here for clarity)
